Endowment: Because History Matters
Supporting the Minnesota Historical Society through a planned gift or a cash gift to our endowment qualifies you to become a Minnesota Legacy member. Members receive special benefits, opportunities for recognition and special event invitations. Becoming a Minnesota Legacy member is an expression of one’s own philanthropy and commitment to future generations
Many Minnesota Legacy members establish named funds or pooled named funds as a way of creating a permanent legacy in their names or in memory or honor of others.
Such funds can be established through a cash gift, a will, an IRA or other retirement plan designation, trust agreements, insurance policies or other arrangements.
Individual Named Funds
Individual funds can be created with a current or future planned gift of $50,000 or more. Development staff members work with donors to create a fund that provides support for an aspect of the Society’s work that is of special interest to the donor or for the general support of the society.
Program Pooled Funds
Donors can create named funds within one of the many program pooled fund approved by the Society’s Executive Council with a current or future planned gift of $10,000 or more. Program Areas
