Orientation for New Society Staff and Volunteers

  • Learn about the Minnesota Historical Society, founded in 1849, nine years before Minnesota became a state.
  • Hear from division and department heads about their award-winning programs and initiatives.
  • See the equivalent of a football field of historical artifacts - including Victorian braided hair jewelry, stunning quilts and Indian beadwork.
  • Find out how conservators repair damaged paper, textile and three-dimensional objects.

2010 Orientation Schedule

All 2009 sessions have been completed. These sessions will be held in 2010:

  • Tuesday, April 13, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, August 10, 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 16, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
