Museum Store volunteers
Assist students with their purchases at the Historic Fort Snelling Museum Store. Volunteers will also help with restocking and store maintenance as directed. Weekly positions open on weekdays, April through June.

Welcome visitors to Mill City Museum with a SMILE! You can be the first contact most visitors have to the museum and you can make a difference in their experience. Baking Lab Assistant
Every day is different in the Mill City Museum Baking Lab. You won't have to worry about getting bored in this dynamic space!
As a baking lab assistant you will:
- experiment with recipes
- learn about food sources
- help guest bakers and staff by mixing batter and kneading dough
- welcome visitors of all ages.

School Program Greeter
If you enjoy a fast pace and inquiring minds, this is a position for you! School program greeters greet students, introduce them to the museum and guide them to their program activities. You'll learn from the programs, assist staff and ensure young visitors leave enthused about their experiences.
School program greeters assist 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. during the school year.

Alexander Ramsey House
Holiday Piano Players
Pianists will be stationed at the 1872 Steinway Piano to provide background music in the Ramsey House during holiday programs.
This position is currently filled to capacity and applications for the 2012 season have closed. Contact VolunteerServices@mnhs.org to be notified when applications open for the 2013 holiday season.

North West Company Fur Post
Historic Craft Demonstrator
Travel back in time. Dress in historic clothing to show visitors how to harvest beans, carve canoe paddles, cook like a voyager, sew, do laundry, or start a fire with a fire steel and flint rock. Must be able to study related historic materials and be at least 18 years old. A three-hour training in May plus one day training on site is required with a commitment to at least one six-hour shift per month in June, July and August.
Event Assistant
Events offer variety. Greet visitors, assist in the parking lot, serve refreshments, or lead historic games or craft activities. Must be at least 14 years old and available on weekends. Training will be provided at each event.
