Gerald Timm, interviewed by Kirk Jeffrey on August 21, 2000 in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
ďYes. They had a name for it. I donít remember what it was called. Itís not a research assistant, but it was a civil service type of an appointment, as an undergraduate, that got paid by the hour. I tried to work ten, fifteen, twenty hours a week, whatever I could spare. It was very handy, because it was right there on campus. It was right in the building where many of my classes were, so it was a great learning experience for me and provided exposure to this type of thinking.
So I was able to, between that job the money that I was able to borrow from the National Defense Education Act, and I also got some scholarships from, one from Collins Radio and I think there was anotheróno, maybe that was the only scholarship I had. Anyway, thatís how I paid my way through college.Ē
