The Archaeology Inventory includes more than 10,000 prehistoric and historic archaeological sites that have been located in Minnesota. These sites date from the earliest occupation of the state through the recent historic past. Inventory records describe the sites by type, function, temporal period, artifacts, general location, and setting. Most properties on the Archaeology Inventory have not been evaluated for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
Standing Structure Inventory
The Standing Structure Inventory of more than 38,000 buildings, sites, structures, objects, and districts covers all of Minnesota's 87 counties and includes many important examples of Minnesota's architectural heritage. While similar to the National Register and Historic District listings, this inventory complements and expands those resources; most properties on the Standing Structure Inventory have not been evaluated for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
