Angela Beaton, a NDSU graduate student, will discuss the brave women who served as nurses during World War I, including Jessie Comstock, daughter of Solomon and Sarah Comstock. While the United States didn't officially enter the war until 1917, American women joined the Red Cross and the Army Nurse Corps as soon as the war broke out in 1914. It was dangerous and exhausting work that they volunteered to do. Come hear about the experiences of these women to commemorate the 100th anniversary of U.S. involvement in World War I.

A tour of the house is included with program admission. Coffee and baked goods will be provided by Red Raven Espresso Parlor.
