Join Michael Neiberg, professor of history at the U.S. Army War College and author of "The Path to War: How the First World War Created Modern America," as he discusses how the U.S. went from detached observer to fully committed participant in WW1. Then hear from Trygve Throntveit, author of "Power without Victory: Woodrow Wilson and the American Internationalist Experiment," as he takes a fresh look at the often misunderstand motives of Wilson including his push for a League of Nations.
Forgotten Stories is a new series that brings together nationally known historians to explore forgotten WW1-era stories of the individuals and organizations who made modern America. Look for additional lectures offered each month through November. Following each program, guests are invited to take a 30-minute guided tour of the exhibit WW1 America.
This program is made possible by the Legacy Amendment's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on Nov. 4, 2008.
