Each month from September through March, watch a different thought-provoking film and engage in community discussion afterward around topics in history that resonate today.
In October, watch Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am, an artful and intimate meditation on the legendary storyteller and Nobel prizewinner that examines her life, her works, and the powerful themes she has confronted throughout her literary career.
This screening is a part of Black Cinema: Under the Skin, a program of films exploring Black culture and experience. Topical and relevant in these turbulent times, Black Cinema aims to create a space for dialogue and better understanding.
This film series is a partnership between the Minnesota Historical Society, the Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul, and the Capri Theater. This program is made possible by the Legacy Amendment's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on Nov. 4, 2008.
