Celebrity judges will include Saints’ vendors and personnel, local chefs, and Jill Blissenbach, creator of The Minnesota Hotdish Hot Dog and 2006 national winner of Ball Park Franks’ Great Hot Dog Taste Challenge.

To participate here’s what you need to do:

  • Registration opens December 15. Register by Friday, January 5, 2007. Give your recipe a clever original name, include a list of ingredients, detailed directions on how to make the product and a short sales pitch (50 words or less) that explains what makes your recipe a winner!
  • Contestants must meet all of the following criteria:
    • Meat ingredients must be pre-cooked and freezable, so they may be re-cooked by grilling, frying or boiling.
    • Recipe must be easy to prepare with as few ingredients as possible.
    • Ingredients must be readily available at local supermarkets.
    • Finished product must hold up well in either a hotbox or refrigerator.
    • Final cost to create an individual product serving needs to be under $2.
    • And of course, end product must taste good!
  • FIVE recipes will be selected from the online registration to be in the final cook-off. Café Minnesota will prepare the recipes for taste-test judging at the Minnesota History Center’s Hot Diggity Ball Park Fare Family Day, Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 3 p.m.
    • Finalists will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail and must attend the event. (Finalists will receive two free admission passes on the day of the contest. Regular museum admission applies to additional members of contestant’s party.)
    • Celebrity judges will taste each prepared recipe and score each individual submission on the following criteria: Taste, Originality, and Written Sales Pitch!
  • Eligibility: the contest is open to all ages.
  • Competition may be photographed, recorded and/or videotaped. The winning recipe becomes the property of the Saint Paul Saints. Be sure and stay for a full day of exciting activities and events that include:
