Join a unique dance party with a touch of history hosted by DJ Michel.Be. Travel through the origins of house music from Michel.Be's hometown of Chicago to Minnesota as DJ Michel.Be spins funk, soul, and disco records of the ’70s and '80s, along with the music of today.

Michel.Be will share their personal experiences as a queer person of color about how music has been used as a form of resistance, joy, healing, and revolution and how house music plays a role in social culture today.

Fans can continue to follow this musical experience on "The Grooveline" hosted by DJ Michel.Be on 98.9 FM KRSM Radio, Fridays 9-11 pm.

The first Tuesday of each month during the run of the exhibit First Avenue: Stories of Minnesota's Mainroom, celebrate with DJs, dance nights, micro shows, trivia games, and insider conversations with the musicians who played and the staff that made it all possible.

Support for this program has been provided by the Marney and Conley Brooks Fund.
