Minnesota Historical and Cultural Grants: Drop Box
The Drop Box will allow you to securely upload your application and any additional required documentation.
Required files
Required files to be uploaded
For all projects:
- Completed Minnesota Historical and Cultural Grants Application Form.
For applications submitted by 501 (c) (3) organizations
- Federal IRS determination letter
- (Note: Do not submit Minnesota Form ST-17 - Certification of Exempt Status
For Nongovernmental Units applying for more than $25,000
- A copy of the organization's financial statement for the most recently completed year, an IRS Form 990, or a certified financial audit.
For applications to the Historic Properties category
- Completed Scope of Work Form
- Photographs: no more than 300 DPI and image size no more than 4”x6” and no less than 2”x 3”.
Directions to Upload Files
To upload files to the Drop Box
- Type your e-mail address. A confirmation of a successful upload will be sent to this address.
- In the subject box, type the name of the applicant.
- In the message box, type any additional pertinent information. This can be left blank.
- Click the browse button, and specify the location of the file to be uploaded.
- Select “Add Another File” for each additional file (up to five files maximum)
- When you have selected all the files you wish to upload, click “Send It.”
You will receive a confirmation e-mail if the files were successfully uploaded.
If you have more than five files to upload, you can upload the contents of an entire folder.
Folders cannot be sent directly to a Dropbox.
You will need to compress/zip the folder first in order to send multiple files within a folder.
To create a zip file on a Windows computer
- Right-click on the file (or multiple-selected files) or folder you want to compress, scroll down and select Send To, you should then see the Compressed (zipped) Folder option.
- To select a consecutive group of files or folders, click the first item, hold down the Shift key, and then click the last item.
- To select a consecutive group of files or folders without using the keyboard, drag the mouse pointer to create a selection around the outside of all the items you want to include.
- To select nonconsecutive files or folders, hold down CTRL, and then click each item you want to select.
- This will create a zip/compressed version of the file(s) or folder(s) in the same folder. Please note that the original files or folders will not be changed.
- Rename the folder using a unique name that includes the name of the applicant. For example: YourHistSociety.zip.
- You may now send the zip file using the Drop Box (see steps 1-6 above).
To compress (archive) files or folders on a Mac OS computer
- Control-click or right-click on the file or folder (or multiple-selected files) to be compressed (zipped)
- To select a consecutive group of files or folders, click the first item, hold down the Shift key, and then click the last item.
- To select a consecutive group of files or folders without using the keyboard, drag the mouse pointer to create a selection around the outside of all the items you want to include.
- To select nonconsecutive files or folders, hold down COMMAND, and click each item you want to select.
- On the pop-up menu, click “Create Archive” or “Compress [filename]” depending on your version of MacOS.
- This will create a zip/compressed version of the file(s) or folder(s) in the same folder. Please note that the original files or folders will not be changed.
- Rename the folder using a unique name that includes the name of the applicant. For example: YourHistSociety.zip.
- You may now send the zip file using the Drop Box (see steps 1-6 above).
Please note that you can send a maximum of five zip files in a single upload (2GB max/folder).
