Answer:The Minnesota Author Biographies Project is a pilot study and only a limited number of individuals could be included. Minnesota's rich literary history made the decisions involved in choosing authors for this project especially difficult. A steering committee of librarians, publishers and historians chose the 36 authors to reflect a variety of ethnic backgrounds and literary genres, to represent both contemporary and historical writers and to acknowledge authors with large bodies of work or celebrity status, such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, as well as less well-known authors, such as Darragh Aldrich, who have produced a significant literary contribution to Minnesota history.
Although no new names will be added to this pilot database at present, the Minnesota Historical Society is exploring ways to produce additional biographical information on its own World Wide Web site. Please visit or call the Minnesota
Historical Society Library at (651) 296-2143 if you need information about other Minnesota Authors.
