Engagements, 1945-1986 (bulk 1948-1968)

The engagements are filed chronologically by each separate event and include correspondence, agendas and itineraries, invitations, programs, press releases, speech texts, photographs, and news clippings. The bulk of this material covers Stassen's 1948 and 1952 presidential campaigns, his presidency of the University of Pennsylvania, and his tenure with the Eisenhower Administration. The majority of the files represent Stassen's speaking engagements and while duplication exists between the speech and engagements series, researchers should check both series for complete coverage. Other files provide documentation concerning Stassen's many travels and meetings of the Mutual Security Agency and Foreign Operations Administration.
