These files consist of correspondence of the Great Northern Right-of-way, Land and Tax commissioner with Great Northern station agents concerning permits granted to other companies and individuals to build or operate on Great Northern right-of-way. There are files for most stations, each of which contains the correspondence regarding permits for right-of-way use in the territory of that station agent. The correspondence concerns both the granting of permits and the subsequent collection of rents. Much of the correspondence is merely facilitative.
