The Guild of Catholic Women was organized by women in St. Luke's Parish, Saint Paul, in December
1906 and was incorporated in 1912. The Guild's objective was to organize city-wide Catholic
women for philanthropic and social activities. The Guild opened the Catholic Guild
Hall in 1912 as a home for young Catholic working women, that later became a home for
the handicapped. The Guild also began the Mexican Mission on St. Paul's West Side in 1930,
which was later known as the Mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and the Antone
Hospital Guild in 1941, which provided financial support for Our Lady of Good Counsel Home, a free hospital for the care of those suffering from cancer.

Files include minutes, annual reports, financial records, correspondence, photographs, clippings, newsletters and publications, photograph albums, scrapbooks, and other material documenting the activities of the Guild of Catholic Women. Of particular interest is an extensive set of minute books (1909-2007), a set of history files, and a link to a video presentation about the history of the Guild and its work. Guild files also include material relating to a conference on mental illness, and a file of correspondence and miscellaneous papers relating to the Mission House of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The collection also includes material relating to the Catholic Guild Hall, much of which focuses on its annual charity ball, as well as some financial information (1960s-1970s) and other papers relating to the Antone Hospital Guild, which was administered by the Guild of Catholic Women for the sole benefit of Our Lady of Good Counsel Home.
