			<p>Materials include Company correspondence and accounts (1838-1866); indentures with
				John Wyse and William Gouldston (1679-1680); a printed abstract of a report by
				Bartholomew de Fonte, vice-admiral of Peru and Mexico, on a voyage from Lima, Peru,
				up the west coast of North America for the purpose of seizing ships that were trying
				to find a Northwest passage; papers relating to the North West Company (1791-1816)
				and selected accounts of the North West Company (1811-1821); a report (1822-1823) on
				the fur trade of the Rainy Lake region; an abstract of an agreement between Lord
				Selkirk and the Hudson's Bay Company to grant land for the Selkirk colony; a
				prospectus for the establishment of a girl's school in a settlement near Forts Garry
				and Douglas (1823); diaries kept by agents in British Columbia at McLeod's Lake
				(1824) and at Stuart's Lake (1840-1842); extracts from official correspondence on
				the trading post at Roseau Lake (1847-1850); an account book (1857); and twentieth
				century correspondence relating to the company's presence and trade routes in
				Minnesota.</p>
