The Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) and their consultants have developed the Minnesota Historic Property Record (MHPR) in order to establish an archival format for the documentation of a historic property. These guidelines are primarily used by state and federal agencies when a historic property is demolished or otherwise adversely affected by a project.

SCOPE AND CONTENTS

A completed MHPR will usually include a historical narrative and large format photographs and negatives. The final report and photo documentation are housed in the manuscript collections of the Minnesota Historical Society. A copy of the narrative is housed in the State Historic Preservation Office. The dates provided are the dates found on the property record reports. Folder may contain historic photographs or documentation, dated earlier.
