George was in the army and was often stationed in different parts of the country; Gene was an artist and art teacher and wrote many family missives about herself, her children, and where George was and what he was doing. There is some early correspondence from the Ritchie side of the family, and extended family correspondence. There are also letters to and from and about Ernest Oberholtzer.
