HISTORY OF THE COUNCIL
The organization was composed of individual schools' parent-teacher
associations and was organized into standing committees concerned with child
welfare, programs, shoes and clothing, and educational standards. It grew out
of individual mothers' groups formed at public grade schools, beginning in 1894
with the Crocus Hill Mothers Club.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE COLLECTION
The collection consists of minutes, yearbooks, and an event program
(1922) that documents the functioning of the association and its component
organizations.
