Microfilm copy of a personal name card index to Declaration of Intention (first papers) vol. D., 1896-1906; Final Papers, vols. A-G, 1875-1906; Petition and Records (final papers) vols. 1-12, 1907-1957.

The cards are arranged in a single alphabetical sequence by surname and given name. The Declarations of Intention are indexed by volume only. All of the Final Papers and the Petition and Record, volumes 1-11, 1907-1942, are indexed by volume and page number. Volume 12 of the Petition and Record, 1942-1957, is indexed by petition number. The cards also contain the date the declaration was filed, the date of naturalization, or the number and date of the certificate of naturalization, which serve as supplemental indexing aids.

The cards were not checked for completeness or correct alphabetical order prior to microfilming. Researchers who do not find a card for a particular individual in its proper place should search the index further and/or consult the naturalization records, many of which contain indexes.
