Microfilm copy of a personal name card index to Final Papers, vols. A-D, 1859-1906, and Minors, vol. B, 1895, Petition and Record (final papers), vols. E-I, 1906-1954.
The cards are arranged in a single alphabetical sequence by surname and given name. All the Final Papers and the Petition and Record for the years 1906-1930 are indexed by volume and page number. Beginning in 1930 the Petition and Record are indexed by petition number. The cards also include the date of naturalization or number and date of the certificate of naturalization, which serve as supplemental indexing aids.
The cards were not checked for completeness or correct alphabetical order prior to microfilming. Researchers who do not find a card for a particular individual in its proper place should search the index further and/or consult the naturalization records, many of which contain indexes.
