DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLECTION

Note to Researchers: To request materials, please note both the location and roll numbers shown below.

Location Box
SAM 18-I1
Naturalization Records Indexes, 1880-1906, 1926-1945.
Two personal name card indexes to: Final Papers (second papers), volumes [A]-C (adults) and C-A (minors), 1880s-1906 and Petition and Record (second/final papers), volumes 3-[5], 1926-1944.
The names in both indexes are arranged alphabetically by surname and given name. The Final Papers are indexed by volume and page number; the Petition and Record are indexed by petition number. The cards also include the date and place of naturalization. Differences between the dates of the indexes and the dates of the volumes are due to the fact that the indexes' dates are those on which citizenship was granted, while the volumes' dates are those on which the citizenship applications were filed.
