               <p> The case files are numbered in three consecutive sequences: A3 - A3621, B2 -
                  B444, and 1 - 22369; the designations “A” and “B” refer to registers numbered “A”
                  and “B.” After register “B” was filled, the register designation was dropped.</p>
               <p> File anomolies: Many files are missing and are presumed to have been discarded.
                  In many boxes, the files are out of order, and files that appear to be missing may
                  be found elsewhere in the box. The early files are thought to include criminal
                  files; it is not known exactly when a separate set of criminal files was
                  begun.</p>
