Governor’s Residence) detailing the history of the Residence. The paper
traces both the history of the Irvine family and the building at 1006
Summit Avenue from its construction through its transfer to the state of
Minnesota and the establishment of the permanent State Ceremonial
Building Council in 1980. This paper was widely used under the Albert
Quie and Rudy Perpich administrations to provide background information
for the council, docents and all involved in the renovation program.
