SCOPE AND CONTENTS
Included are minutes and agenda packets (1991-1997) and subject files
(1991-2000), covering such topics as council duties and members, building
contractors, licensing, mechanical contractors, and recovery fund issues.
HISTORICAL NOTE
Created as the Builders State Advisory Council in 1991 (Minn. Laws 1991 ch 206, sec
9), to advise the Commissioner of Commerce on such issues as continuing education
requirements, local compliance problems and additional areas requiring licensure. In
1993, the name was changed to the Builders Advisory Council (Minn. Laws 1993 chap
245 sec 16). The council operated under Minn. Statue 326.85 which was repealed in
2007 (Minn. Laws 2007 ch 140 art 13 sec 3).
