         <p>D. W. Onan &amp; Sons, Inc. was founded in 1920 by David W. Onan.  Initially the company manufactured power generation equipment,
            and in the 1950s began manufacturing engines as well.  In 1989 the company became a fully owned subsidiary of Cummins Engine Company, 
            but continued to manufacture Onan branded products.</p>
