Items in this collection are photographs from the Minneapolis Times, Minneapolis
Tribune, and the Minneapolis Journal. They primarily date from 1915-1949, but some
images fall outside that range. These images were transferred to the Minneapolis Public
Library in 1970 and then acquired by the Minnesota Historical Society throughout the
2000s.

Box 1 contains various groupings of photographs. Box 2 contains alphabetically arranged
files of people, places, and organizations that are statewide in representation, and
include photographs and the occasional newspaper article. The photographs are lower
quality having been printed quickly for the press. Some unique images are also included
if they were provided to the newspaper for a specific story and the occasional image
printing plate can be found.
