The Revolution
No. 37 Park Row. (Room 17.)
New York, June 22 1868

Miss Josephine Lapham
Dear Friend

I saw your name announced as entering the ministry, some time since & then directed this envelope, meaning at once to draft you a line of congratulations - but pressure of work has caused this long delay -

I have copies of The Revolution sent you to day - I am sure you with every woman who strikes out of the old [ruts?], will welcome this advocate of woman's using all the powers she possesses to the best possible purpose for her own & the world's benefit -

If you are located, I shall be happy to send you The Revolution regularly - If traveling, and will give me your address from time to time in advance, will send it to you as you direct - Shall be happy to do this, in order that you may introduce it to your audiences and thus help to awaken the women to a sense of their need of action in new and more lucrative departments of work - We, this week, open a column of "What women have done & are doing" - Will you not send us items, stating such parts as you may learn - We shall be greatly obliged to you, if you will thus help us to fill this department for the great encouragement of the young women who are longing for worthy work to do -

Respectfully yours - Susan B. Anthony
