MEDIA ALERT: Capitol Chandelier to be Lit Once Again Jan. 17

Chandelier

After a two year absence, the Minnesota State Capitol's stately and historic chandelier will return to its rightful place inside the Capitol dome. The chandelier was lowered in August 2010 to accommodate a dome repair project and so it could undergo conservation treatment.

WHAT: Raising and lighting of the State Capitol chandelier.

WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 17th.

TIME: 4 to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Minnesota State Capitol, 75 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St. Paul

COST: FREE.

In addition to witnessing the raising and lighting of the newly restored chandelier, Capitol visitors will enjoy early 1900's music provided by vocalist Erik Pearson and presentations by state government leaders.
