UPDATE: Explore Toys with Programs for Adults and Kids at the History Center this October

UPDATE: Due to low ticket sales, "Throwback Thursday" has been cancelled.

"Toys of the '50s, '60s and '70s" has generated record attendance with visitors of all ages. Explore this hands-on exhibit which features hundreds of toys, interactive play zones and a quiz. Plus, this October families can spend school release days at the History Center and participate in History Hijinx, a make-it take-it toy activity for kids.

Throwback Thursday - CANCELLED
Date: Thursday, Oct. 9
Time: 7 to 10 p.m.
Cost: $25/$20 for MNHS members.

Adults can relive their childhood at this special evening event with old-school hula hoop contests, Hippity-Hop races and rounds of Mystery Date and Battleship. Guests can also lip sync to hits from the '50s, '60s and '70s, view their favorite televised shenanigans on the original "Batman," "Flipper" and "Gilligan's Island" and help set the Minnesota record for longest Barrel of Monkeys chain. Grown-up versions of rec room snacks and the adult beverages you couldn't have as a kid will also be provided. Plus, guests can check out the exhibit "Toys of the '50s, '60s and '70s." This event is for people 21 and older.

History HiJinxHistory HiJinx: Education Minnesota Family Days
Date: Thursday, Oct. 16 and Friday, Oct. 17
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost: Free with admission of $11 adults, $9 seniors and college students, $6 children ages 6-17; free for children age 5 and under and MNHS members.

Spend some quality time at the Minnesota History Center while away from school. Explore the new "Toys of the '50s, '60s and '70s" exhibit and stop by the History HiJinx craft tables, where guests can create their own toy to take home.
