To serve visitors better in the midst of a reduction in the Minnesota Historical Society's operating budget, hours for the Library will change to reflect highest demand visitation times. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, new hours will be Tuesdays, noon to 8 p.m.; Wednesdays through Fridays, noon to 5 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4 pm.; and Sundays, noon to 4 p.m. Closed Mondays and holidays.

Visit the library on Saturdays for the free class, "I'm New Here: Introducing the Library." The library contains an array of sources for finding family history; researching a term paper; looking into the history of a house, business, organization or neighborhood; or just finding out more about Minnesota's rich past and many cultures. This class introduces these resources and offers tips on how to use catalogs, request materials and purchase photocopies. Available each Saturday year round, except Memorial and Labor Day Weekends. The library also offers various specialized classes for a fee. Reservations are recommended; call 651-259-3300 or register online at www.mnhs.org/library/classes.

The Minnesota Historical Society Library is located in the History Center at 345 Kellogg Blvd. W. in St. Paul. Auxiliary aids and services are available with notice of five working days (call 651-259-3300).

The Society’s calendar of events is posted online at www.mnhs.org/calendar. The web site also has information about all of the Society’s programs, museums and historic sites. To request a free guide to museums and historic sites, call 1-800-657-3773.
