St. Paul Tourist Cabins SignPARTING SHOT

The St. Paul Tourist Cabins sign came down March 16 and is now in the collections of the Minnesota Historical Society. Curators are hoping to return the 1945-era sign to working condition and incorporate it into the Society’s Minnesota's Greatest Generation exhibit, set to open at the History Center in 2008.

Tourist cabins served the growing number of automobile travelers through the 1940s and were located along major highways on the outskirts of town.
