History Matters to Everyone!

Its time to rally! Join history lovers for History Matters Day at the State Capitol on Thursday February 22 and show your support for the Minnesota Historical Society.

Attend a rally at 11:30 a.m. in the Capitol Rotunda and an information fair in the Great Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A complete schedule for this important day is now available.

Baseball As America

HURRY IN BEFORE IT CLOSES!

WheatiesThe blockbuster exhibit Baseball As America closes March 4 at the Minnesota History Center. So hurry in to see more than 500 artifacts on display from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Join in fun fan-friendly activities, including Rookie Rally Day on February 11 where kids can put their face on a Wheaties box, and Pop Ball!: Baseball's Greatest Partnership on February 24.


COME VISIT MILL CITY MUSEUM

Mill City Museum art

A unique concoction of raw power, dramatic views and hands-on fun propels you through Mill City Museum. Rediscover the spirited riverfront - the very birthplace of Minneapolis - and experience the fiery past and dynamic present of this architecturally stunning National Historic Landmark. To commemorate the Museum's "explosive" past, special events are planned from February 15 through March 31.

DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY

North West Company Fur PostAt a British trading post, like the North West Company Fur Post in Pine City, it would have been common to celebrate events of the monarchy. Queen Charlotte's Birthday Ball became a tradition among British elite after King George III first threw the ball in honor of his wife's birthday in the 1780s. You can attend a re-creation of this special dance on Saturday, February 17.

Lego modelThis LEGO model of Central Baptist Church, the first African American church in Fergus Falls, was built as a family history project by members of All About Family, a group devoted to supporting and developing families in the Twin Cities.
