Denmark Township baseball program
The public is invited to an afternoon of vintage base ball, food and entertainment on Sunday, September 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Denmark Town Hall, 90th and Oakgreen in Denmark Township, south Washington County. The free event features the newly organized Denmark Demons, sponsored by the Denmark Township Historical Society, facing Washington County Historical Society’s club, the St. Croix Base Ball Club, in a game played by 1860 rules. New Coordinator for Minnesota Reflections
Minnesota Digital Library Coalition announces Marian Rengel, Learning Resources & Technology Services at St. Cloud State University, is now the outreach coordinator. Marian will be the main contact person for questions about “Minnesota Reflections” and other new projects. If you have suggestions or questions, please contact Marian.
New Online Museum Studies Journal
CLS Journal of Museum Studies provides a worldwide e-journal outlet for students enrolled in the Museum Studies masters program at the University of Oklahoma. Any topic of relevance to the field of museum studies is considered suitable for publication in the journal. Presently publication in the journal is not open outside the CLS program, except by invitation of the editor. The first issue explores the use of Podcasts in museums.
History Topics to Get You Started
The Minnesota Historical Society's Reference Library has an online resouce to get you started on many broad topics in Minnesota history. These might be useful in creating your next exhibit, or in helping local History Day students.

Upcoming Conferences and Workshops
Upper Minnesota River History Museums to Meet
Monday September 11 is the meeting date for history museums in the Upper Minnesota River area, hosted by Minnesota’s Machinery Museum in Hanley Falls. Representatives from SMAHC (arts and humanities council), Friends of Minnesota Barns, SW MN Foundation, Minnesota Humanities Commission and Minnesota Historical Society have been invited to provide information helpful to museums in the area. Field Note
According to Bob Burgess at the Brown County Historical Society in New Ulm, their 2006 exhibit, "Stewards of the Land: Century Farms of Brown County" has brought in many first-time visitors. The image below shows the section of the exhibit dedicated to the impact of the Rural Electrification Act.
