Tim Glines Retirement Reception

Join us on Thursday July 5, 2007, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the Pillsbury Room of the Minnesota History Center, 345 Kellogg Blvd. W., St. Paul, to wish Tim Glines a long and well-deserved retirement.

Barden Park Rededication

The City of St. Cloud will rededicate its oldest park (est. 1855) on Thursday June 28 at 7 p.m. A band concert follows the brief ceremony. Contact Juliana Elchert, 320-253-2210.

Minnesota State Grants-in-Aid

The State Grants-in-Aid program augmented by a generous increase from the Minnesota Legislature has an estimated $200,000 available in the next cycle. Pre-applications will be due Friday, July 27, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. in the Grants Office of the Minnesota Historical Society. Final applications are due Friday, August 31, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. in the Grants Office. A mailing to county and local historical organizations was sent on Tuesday, June 26.

Upcoming Conferences and Workshops

Digitization and Museums: Bringing Your Collections into the 21st Century

Sponsored by AASLH and hosted by the Minnesota Historical Society on July 11-13 at the History Center in St. Paul, Leigh Grinstead of the Collaborative Digitization Project will offer in-depth training on digitizing historic collections. Nonprofit Budgeting: Beyond the Basics

This workshop will examine the role and function of budgets and explore a variety of budget approaches and strategies. July 10, 2007, 9 a.m. to noon at Nonprofits Assistance Fund, 2801 21st Ave. S. Suite 210, Minneapolis.
