Revitalizing Historic Fort Snelling
Minnesota Historical Society unveiled plans to revitalize Historic Fort Snelling, the rebuilt 1820s walled fort overlooking the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers. Public comments to the National Park Service will be accepted through September 26, 2007.
Gebhard Award seeks nominees
The Minnesota Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians invites the submission of articles and books on the subject of Minnesota architectural history to the sixth David Stanley Gebhard Award.

New filing rules for small nonprofits
The Internal Revenue Service will require the submission of an electronic postcard from all nonprofits with gross receipts of $25,000 or less or risk loosing their tax deductible status. The new policy applies to fiscal years beginning after December 31, 2006.

The State We're In
This conference will explore creative and critical approaches to Minnesota history at age 150, on May 28-30, 2008. Proposals are invited for presentation of scholarship, demonstrations, workshops, round-tables, works-in-progress on all aspects of Minnesota history. Individual or group proposals welcome. Sumbit proposals by January 15, 2008 to Annette Atkins (in Word, if possible) including title, brief abstract, preferred format, and one-page vita for each participant.
