Friends of the Red Wing Library, the Friends Book Club, and the Goodhue County History Center will hold "Hot Reads for Cold Nights" on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the Red Wing Library’s Foot Room. Two events in Becker
Sherburne History Center hosts two events on Saturday, January 26, 2008.
- 11 a.m. to 1 pm, attend the opening reception for the exhibit, Life Around the Kelley Farm, 1861 featuring photographs by Elk River photographer Roger Nordstrom.
- At 1 p.m., Tom Barthel presents the history of bison in Sherburne County. Tom will have hands on activities for kids of all ages.

Charitable Tax Exemption Education
In response to the December 6, 2007 Minnesota Supreme Court Ruling, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits is launching an effort this legislative session petitioning the legislature and governor to clarify property tax exemption for nonprofits.
New Form 990
United States Internal Revenue Service released the new Form 990 for the 2008 tax year. This form will be needed when filing in 2009.
