New exhibit opening

Anoka County Historical Society will host an open house on May 13, 2008, for the opening of "Law and Ladders: History of Anoka County’s fire, police, and sheriff’s departments."

Book release in Richfield

Richfield Historical Society hosts a book release with signing party and companion exhibit opening on Monday, May 12, 2008 6:30 p.m. for "Richfield: Minnesota's Oldest Suburb" at the Richfield History Center.

History Day projects in Red Wing

Goodhue County History Center announces that Minnesota History Day projects from the Cannon Falls Middle School sixth grade students are on display in the lobby throughout the month of May until June 15.

Tax Filing Reminder

Tax-exempt organizations that normally have annual gross receipts of $25,000 or less and do not have to file Form 990 or 990-EZ, must now file the e-Postcard. It is due the fifteenth day of the fifth month after the close of your tax year. So, if your organization operated on a calendar year in 2007, the e-Postcard is due by May 15, 2008. What happens if you don’t file? You risk losing your tax-exempt status! Details. Learn more about how to maintain your tax-exempt status no matter your budget.
