Annual meeting in Red Wing

Goodhue County Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting on Sunday January 25, 2009, beginning at 2 p.m. at the History Center, 1166 Oak Street in Red Wing.

Dakota County Historical Society holds its Annual Meeting on Saturday January 31, 2009, 1 p.m. at the Lawshe Memorial Museum, 130 Third Avenue North, South St. Paul.

Cedarhurst Mansion program

Washington County scholarships

Washington County Historical Society is offering a scholarship for post-secondary students. The deadline for applications is March 15, 2009.  

AASLH Awards

American Association for State and Local History seeks to honor accomplishments in local history. Nominations for Minnesota projects are due on March 1, 2009 to Melinda Hutchinson.

Costume Collection Grant

Costume Society of America announces a February 1, 2009 deadline for its Small Museum grants ($1500) to support projects relating to costume collections in small museums. 

Leadership Grants

Institute of Museum and Library Services seeks grant applications for the agency's 2009 National Leadership Grant program. The deadline for submitting applications is February 1, 2009.

Johanna Favrot Fund for Historic Preservation

Provides nonprofit organizations and public agencies matching grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 for projects that contribute to the preservation of a site or recapture an authentic sense of place. Deadline February 1, 2009. Contact Chris Morris.

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Fund for Historic Interiors

Provides nonprofit organizations and public agencies matching grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 to assist in the preservation, restoration, and interpretation of historic interiors. Deadline February 1, 2009. Contact Chris Morris.

Hart Family Fund for Small Towns

Assists small town (5,000 or less) preservation and revitalization initiatives around the country. The Fund provides nonprofit organizations and public agencies matching grants from $5,000 to $10,000 for preservation planning and education efforts. Deadline February 1, 2009. Contact Chris Morris.
