Minnesota Historical Society accepting applications for two traveling exhibits, Minnesota Homefront and Minnesota on the Map, beginning April 3, 2011. Application cycles for Electrifying Minnesota and Minnesota Disasters end March 31, 2011. Funded by the 2008 Legacy Amendment and made possible by the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

New Listserv for Minnesota Preservationists

Northstar Blankets sign detailA new electronic mailing list, Preserve Minnesota Listserv, is available to facilitate faster and better communication among historic preservationists across Minnesota, including SHPO staff, local governments, local preservation commission members, designers, contractors and building owners. The listserv is free and available through Google Groups and is currently being maintained by staff at the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office and the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota. Stephen Elliot

Minnesota Historical Society announced that its Board of Directors named D. Stephen Elliott as director and chief executive officer effective May 1, 2011. Elliott is currently the president and chief executive officer of the New York State Historical Association and The Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown NY.
