Field Note | | Congratulations to the Lyon County Historical Society!
LCHS organized in the Marshall-Lyon County Public Library (pictured above), but moved its exhibits as both organizations grew their programs. After the library relocated a couple years ago, the public considered a number of potential reuses for this 19,000 square foot facility.
LCHS was recently granted exclusive use of the former library building, built in 1967, after decades of renting storefront retail spaces. The former library building, in the heart of Marshall's commercial and cultural districts, will enable LCHS to address museum standards in ways that rented facilities could not.
History has a bright future in Lyon County. | |
