Listening Sessions CORRECTION
Please note that the Minnesota Historical Society listening session scheduled in Virginia MN on December 7, 2012 will be held at the Virginia Area Historical Society, 800 9th Avenue North, Virginia.

Small Grants Deadline

Spotlighted Project: Film Housing Project

Recipient: Olmsted County Historical Society
Funding Amount: $3,569
Project Details

Local television station (KTTC) donated 485 BETA videos and 557 16mm films to the History Center of Olmsted County, Rochester MN. New storage methods and materials were implemented to preserve and stabilize these donations. The historic collection was sorted, organized and rehoused into archival containers which were then labeled, cataloged and entered into a PastPerfect database.

Afterwards, Randal Dietrich, Minnesota Historical Society, will convene the second in a series of discussions with Civil War stakeholders to review planning for the 2013 Gettysburg Anniversary and youth outreach.
