Small Grants Deadline
The next deadline for small Legacy grants ($7000 and less) will be Friday January 11, 2013. Applications must be submitted via the grants portal by the end of day on Friday. As your organization wraps up its Minnesota Historical & Cultural Heritage Grants (Legacy Grants), keep in mind that the final reports you complete must be uploaded to the grants portal. The Grants Office can no longer accept paper reports. Materials for final reporting include:

Spotlighted Project: Interpretive Plan for E. St. Julien Cox House
The Society worked with Nancy O'Brien Wagner from Bluestem Heritage group to develop a new interpretive plan for the Eugene St. Julien Cox House's exhibits and programs. The National Association of Interpretation's recommendations were used as the framework for the new plan for this home that is listed in National Register of Historic Places.

Small Museum Pro! News
In a collaborative agreement effective January 1, 2013, American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) will take ownership of Small Museum Pro!, a practical and affordable online professional certification program.
The program will be on hiatus while ownership transfers to AASLH. Current enrollees can complete the program and retain all credits earned by the end of December 2012. AASLH expects the program to resume by January 2014. Contact Bethany Hawkins, 615-320-3203, for more information.

Curator: The Museum Journal will publish a special issue on museums and people with disabilities.
