Minnesota Historical & Cultural Heritage Grants

Tentative Grant Deadlines Set
Tentative grant deadlines for the 2014-2015 biennium have been set for the Minnesota Historical & Cultural Heritage (Legacy) Grants. The first small grants round will have a deadline of Friday June 21, 2013. Required pre-applications for the mid/large grants round will be due Friday August 2, 2013. Check the Legacy grants website for updates. Contact the with questions or for assistance with your application process.

Reminder: All information in this notice is subject to change based on legislative action in the spring of 2013.

Spotlighted Project: Discover Dakota Culture and Heritage: Educational Series

Recipient: Blue Earth County Historical Society
Funding Amount: $7,000
Project Details

A 12-month educational series celebrating the Dakota People in recognition of the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862 Sesquicentennial. In addition to the video documentation of each program, a variety of physical components were also developed through this educational series.

If you weren't able to attend, you can still contact your legislators to let them know how important Minnesota history is to your community!

The 1st Minnesota Fife and Drum Corps played the 1812 Quickstep to delight those in attendance.
