Field Note

Three Sharps, Goodhue
 County

Goodhue County Historical Society celebrates its 140th anniversary with an Age of Style Gala on September 26, 2009. Although they are looking back over 140 years, they still collect in the present. Recording history as it happens allows organizations to collect accurate records of their communities.

The lovely ladies pictured above are The Three Sharps: (from left) Ione Carlson Martin, Helen Tebbe Smart, and Jeanne Elander Combs. They were from Red Wing and performed in the 1940s. Photo by Maurice Seymour, courtesy of Ron Seymour.
