Advisory Committee To Meet
Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) will hold its first meeting on Tuesday September 15, 2009 from 9 to 2 in the Irvine Room at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul. This is the initial organizational meeting of the committee.

Advisory Committee Members Announced
Fifteen members have been appointed to the Historic Resources Advisory Committee. Members come from a variety of disciplines and from all areas of the state. Civil War Weekend at LeDuc

T-Rex Traveling Exhibit in Stearns County

Bus Trip to Titanic Exhibit
Stearns History Museum hosts a bus trip to the Science Museum of Minnesota to see "Titanic: the Artifact Exhibition" and Omnitheater presentation "Titanica." Bus departs Stearns History Museum at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday September 22, 2009. Cost: $65 members, $70 nonmembers. Midwest Open-Air Museums Coordinating Council (MOMCC) and Mountain-Plains Association for Living History, Farm and Agricultural Museums (ALHFAM) are soliciting papers and session proposals for the Spring 2010 conference "Are we there yet? Fellowship for Registrars Symposium
Small Museum Administrators' Committee of the American Association of Museums (SMAC-AAM) offers one fellowship to the 3rd International Registrars Symposium in Chicago IL, November 6 to 8, 2009. Award includes registration plus $300 to assist with travel and hotel costs. To apply submit a letter (maximum 2 pages) discussing current responsibilities, activities and career goals. Fellowship for Webinar Series
Small Museum Administrators Committee of AAM offers one $25 fellowship for each of the 2009 AAM Museum Essentials webinar series. Fellowships also good for on-demand version of previous webinars. Submit online application.

CAP Applications Available
Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) applications are now available online. CAP provides small to mid-size museums of all types with a general conservation assessment of their collections, environmental conditions, and facilities. Contact CAP, 202-233-0800, for more information.

New Library Hours at MHS
To serve visitors better in the midst of a reduction in the Minnesota Historical Society's operating budget, hours for the library will change to reflect highest demand visitation times. Effective Tuesday September 8, 2009, new hours will be Tuesdays, noon to 8; Wednesdays through Fridays, noon to 5; Saturdays, 9 to 4; and Sundays, noon to 4. Closed Mondays and holidays.

Adopt-a-Picket Fundraiser
Friends of the Cemetery, a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of Minneapolis Pioneers and Soldiers Memorial Cemetery announce the kickoff of the Adopt-a-Picket Fundraiser. They hope to raise $100,000 toward the restoration of the cemetery's steel and limestone pillar fence.
