Field Note |

What is one way to entertain visitors and teach them some history? Invite them
to a vintage baseball game! Spectators have fun watching the game, but along the
way learn 1860s baseball rules and see some period-appropriate uniforms.
The St. Croix Base Ball Club was organized in 1997 and recreates a ball club
formed in Stillwater in 1867. During this September's game they were defeated
by newcomers Denmark Demons, a club organized in 2006 to recreate the original
Demons base ball club formed in 1908. |
