Field Note

Gunflint temporary trail

Gunflint Trail Historical Society made use of a temporary raised-trail system using materials originally developed for boat docks. This system allows visitors to access across the rugged terrain of the site, but doesn't permanently alter the historic landscape. The Society reports that installation was very easy for an all-volunteer group to accomplish in a few hours.
