Legacy Amendment Update

Last Call for FY 2010 Fast Track Grants
Funding expected to run out after February 26 deadline

The enthusiasm with which applicants have embraced the Small (Fast Track) grant tier of the Minnesota Historical & Cultural Grants program has been tremendous. There are already 86 Fast Track projects awarded across Minnesota. The response means that there is only $322,264 left for awards in FY 2010. If the quality of projects continues at the same rate, the Minnesota Historical Society anticipates these funds will be exhausted at the end of February. Therefore, potential applicants for Fast Track grants should plan accordingly. It is likely there will not be deadlines for March and April 2010.

The Fast Track grant program will begin again with the May 28, 2010 deadline, to begin awarding FY 2011 money for projects beginning in July 2010.

Continue to monitor the grants website for updates, or contact Grants Office staff.

When the Ham Lake fire swept through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in May 2007, nearly 40,000 acres burned. In what way do you show the interaction between human activity and the environment?
