What's new for Form 990
Guidestar presents a succinct summary of changes made to the 2009 Form 990. Most local history organizations in Minnesota file 990-N, 990-EZ, or the full 990 at this time of year.

Increased oversight for nonprofits
Guidestar reports that the Internal Revenue Service has hired 155 new employees, of which 100 will be working in the examination office, which audits nonprofits.

Field Note

Firefighters Hall

Spring has sprung; or so we can hope. Even though we know living in Minnesota means at least one more good snowstorm this season, we can still look ahead to some spring cleaning. Now is a good time to clear the clutter in your exhibits, rotating objects so your visitors have something fresh to look at.

Is there enough in your exhibit cases to tell the story properly? Or, are you giving your visitors sensory and information overload?
